ISSA-NOVA December 2013 – The Legal Pros and Cons of Active Cyber Defense

 2013_12 - Randy

Featuring Randy V. Sabett, J.D., CISSP, Counsel, ZwillGen, speaking on Walking into a Minefield:  The Legal Pros and Cons of Active Cyber Defense
For quite a while, active cyber defense (a.k.a., active defense or “hacking back”) was a topic discussed in hushed tones in back rooms or in classified environments.  It has received very little attention at a broad industry level.  Over the past couple of years, the momentum has increased to a point where there are now numerous commentators and ideas that have been floated.  Unfortunately, there has been little consensus on what is okay and what is not okay.  This session will look at the issue from a converged viewpoint that takes into account the legal limits around various technical approaches and concepts.
Date: Thursday, December 12
Time: Doors Open at 5:30 PM;  Meeting Starts at 6:15 PM
Location: Avaya
Special Note: Must be a US Citizen or Green Card Holder to attend.  Photo ID Required for facility entry.
