ISSA Member and Information Systems Ph.D. candidate requesting survey participation – views on Information Systems ethics and the relationship to insider threats.

Dear ISSA Member,

I would like to invite you to participate in an anonymous, voluntary survey I am conducting as part of my doctoral research studies in information systems security (ISS) at Nova Southeastern University. The study is titled “Virtue Ethics: Examining Influences on the Ethical Commitment of Information System Workers in Trusted Positions” and it seeks to validate a new theoretical model which demonstrates the influences on ISS trusted worker ethical behavior within an organization and suggest how various factors influence the moral choices of information system security workers.

I have run the survey request through the ISSA National Office and have their permission to solicit your participation.

The survey consists of 44 Likert scale questions. There are 6 demographics questions and 38 that focus on ethics and various factors which may influence the moral choices of Information System security workers. The study should take no more than 15 minutes to complete, the identity of participants will remain anonymous, and all data collected will be destroyed after use. Completing and submitting the survey indicates your voluntary participation in the study. The URL for the survey is:

If necessary, copy and paste the link into your browser.

The information gathered in this survey will not only further my own studies, but hopefully will contribute to important research in the Information Security/Information Assurance field.

You are also encouraged to invite other information systems security professionals to participate in this survey. Please feel free to forward the survey URL to qualified individuals.

I want to thank you in advance for considering this request for your participation. If there are any questions or comments, please contact me at:
