The Risk Management Framework Step 6, Monitor Security Controls, can be summarized as maintaining situational awareness of the authorized information system. At this meetup, we will discuss unique sensors to keep abreast of the evolving Cyber-landscape, from real-time continuous monitoring (threat detection and remediation), social engineering, RF/wireless, access control and much more.
We are very fortunate to have Law McCardle present about his experience Enhancing Situational Awareness in the Cybersecurity Landscape. Mr McCardle is a CyberSecurity strategist with 10+ years working with organizations in the public, private sectors and the U.S. Intelligence Community involving critical infrastructure, advanced threat forensics, machine learning / big data and disruptive technologies.
Note that this will be the seventeenth meeting discussing cyber security aspects related to the RMF. At our last meeting, Virginia Poindexter provided her presentation on Collaborative Network Defense. Her presentation is available in the meetup library for meetup members. I definitely suggest you download the file from our meetup site. Many valuable RMF LifeBoat files are posted on our meetup for download by our Meetup group members.
